Tin Roof to Open on Beale
By Bill Dries
The street where the blues was born is getting a tin roof – Tin Roof bar and restaurant that is.
The Nashville-based chain announced Thursday, June 19, that it will open next month in what is currently the location of the Hard Rock Café at 315 Beale St. at Hernando.
Hard Rock is moving next month to the Lansky Building further west on Beale at 126 Beale at Second Street with renovation on that building underway starting earlier this spring.
The Tin Roof on Beale will feature live entertainment from special performances to regular house bands and “Tenn-Mex” cuisine.
The building is on the site where Pee Wee’s saloon once stood in the early 20th century. The current building was built in the early 1980s during the renovation of the entertainment district and was originally home to the Memphis Sounds recording studio before Hard Rock signed on as a tenant in the early 1990s.
