NASHVILLE (AP) – Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority officials say the facility handled more than 10.6 million passengers in the 2014 fiscal year marking a record for the airport.

The total number of passengers who utilized the Nashville airport during the fiscal year ending June 30 was 10,627,239, a 6 percent increase over fiscal year 2013.

Airport Authority President Rob Wigington says the number of travelers is a sign of a strong economy in the area.
