Redbirds Supporters March to City Hall

Backers of the proposal for the city to buy AutoZone Park rallied at the ballpark in below-freezing temperatures Tuesday in advance of the Memphis City Council's afternoon meeting.

On the council’s agenda was a twice-delayed vote on the $25 million deal. The group marched from the ballpark to City Hall and signed a giant baseball, which was to be presented to the council to show public support for the proposal. The rally climaxed a post-New Year’s push to win council approval of the deal.
