The Africa in April Cultural Awareness Festival will be held Friday, April 18, through Sunday, April 20, in Robert R. Church Park, at the corner of Fourth and Beale streets. The festival includes festivities, food, crafts and music showcasing Burkina Faso. Visit africainapril.org for a schedule.

Eclectic Eye will hold an opening reception for Melody Kratz’s “Stars and Stripes” Friday, April 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its Midtown boutique, 242 S. Cooper St. The art will be on display through June 4. Visit eclectic-eye.com.

The Cotton Museum will host an opening reception for Kiersten Williams’ “Black, White, and Beauty” Friday, April 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the museum, 65 Union Ave. The event will include modern art, live music, wine and craft beer. Cost is free. Visit memphiscottonmuseum.org.

The Orpheum Theatre will host Grammy-nominated singer Ledisi on Friday, April 18, at 8 p.m. at the theater, 203 S. Main St. Buy tickets at orpheum-memphis.com.

Memphis Farmers Market will be open Saturday, April 19, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Central Station, at the corner of South Front Street and West G.E. Patterson Avenue. Visit memphisfarmersmarket.org.

The Down to Earth Festival will be held Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shelby Farms Park, 500 N. Pine Lake Drive. Dixon Gallery and Gardens will host Easter Egg Hunt 2014 Saturday, April 19, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Dixon, 4339 Park Ave. Cost is $8 for members or $10 for nonmembers; RSVP required. Call 761-5250 or visit dixon.org.

Memphis Botanic Garden will host its family egg hunt for children and adults Saturday, April 19, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the garden, 750 Cherry Road. Rotary Club of Memphis East will host the Dunavant Public Servant Awards luncheon Monday, April 21, at 11:45 a.m. at Holiday Inn University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander will present the keynote. Tickets are $50. Visit rotaryclubofmemphiseast.org.
