Memphis-based Evolve Bank & Trust generated 203 jobs from Jan. 1, 2012, through June 30 of this year, a feat that was honored in Inc. Magazine’s second annual Hire Power Awards.

Those awards recognize private businesses that have generated the most jobs in the past three years. Evolve’s total placed it at No. 3 among private business job creators in Tennessee and one of among 437 Hire Power honorees from across the country in 25 business categories.

Evolve president and CEO Scott Stafford said the company’s placement on the list is a testament to the success of what Evolve has worked to achieve – a solid growth story for the company. And that story is continuing, with the firm recently making its foray into Nashville.

Stafford said Evolve just opened a loan production office in Nashville in September specializing in physician-related lending. At the end of September, Chris Hammond, formerly with Physicians Capital in Nashville, joined Evolve to help expand lending operations.

Hammond and his team specialize in lending to physicians, hospitals and physician-owned ambulatory surgical centers and surgical specialty centers. Evolve offers physician-specific lending through a division of the company that finances things like center expansions, improvements, buyouts and other projects.

“It’s been a solid year for us, and we’re excited about 2014,” Stafford said, adding that Evolve has been fortunate the last few years to be in a position to expand the business. “Rates have been a little choppy the last few months, but we had $65 million in top line revenue through September and closed September at $270 million in assets.”

Stafford said Evolve’s commercial loan officers also have a pipeline that’s greater now than it has been in the recent past.

In other Evolve news of late, the company was recognized on this year’s Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest growing private companies. Evolve came in at No. 838 out of 5,000 and ranked 12th out of the Top 100 Tennessee companies.

The 2013 list ranked companies on the basis of percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012.

Also this year, Evolve announced a new partnership with the Cooper-Young Business Association, agreeing to a three-year deal for Evolve to be the first-ever title sponsor of the Cooper-Young Festival. This year’s Cooper-Young festival took place Sept. 14.

“It’s been a solid year for us, and we’re excited about 2014.”

Also recently at Evolve, the Kindness Revolution – a nonprofit organization that raises awareness of values like kindness in leadership, customer service, schools and communities – honored the bank as a “Kind Company of the Month.” And Jo Garner, an Evolve loan officer, was given the “Spirit of Kindness” award.

Kindness Revolution president and founder Ed Horrell said the organization is always looking to recognize corporate citizens like Evolve and their employees who give back to their communities through outstanding service and commitment to values.

About the Kindness Revolution honor, Stafford said the importance of giving back to the community is stressed at every level within the Evolve organization – “and we work hard to ensure we make a difference in the communities we serve.”

Evolve is based in Memphis and operates a handful of full-service branches in Arkansas and Tennessee, and more than 30 mortgage production offices across the country.
