2012: Case Management, a provider of outpatient case management services for the mentally ill, bought the four-story, circa-1973 airport area office building at 3171 Directors Row for $1.3 million from Directors Memphis LLC, a company based in Tacoma, Wash.

2008: Poag & McEwen revised its plans for the latest phase of the Saddle Creek lifestyle center in Germantown to take out a planned lake and shaving an acre of land from it to bring it to 35 acres and an estimated $250 million project.

1983: On the front page of The Daily News, new figures from state economic development officials showed manufacturing investments of $725.4 million in the state during the first three quarters of the year. The 81 new plants over the nine-month period was the most since 1978 for Tennessee. The manufacturing investments accounted for nearly all of the $825.4 million in manufacturing and nonmanufacturing investment for the nine months.

And Robert L. Childers became president of the Memphis Trial Lawyers Association. Childers is currently a Circuit Court Judge.

1973: Steve Miller Band played the Auditorium North Hall.

1963: Dedication of the new Sterick Building North at Third Street and Court Avenue, built by the owners of the Sterick Building, Herbert Humphreys and Robert Galloway. The north building remains today a 10-story building with a 400-car parking garage topped by a 120-unit motel. At its opening the motel was a Holiday Inn.
