The Daily News’ offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Offices will reopen Friday, July 5, at 8:30 a.m. and remain open during normal business hours.

Mud Island River Park will host its annual Fourth of July celebration and fireworks display Thursday, July 4, at the park, 125 N. Front St. Gates open at 10 a.m., and the fireworks show starts at 9:45 p.m. Visit mudisland.com.

The city of Germantown will hold its Fireworks Extravaganza Thursday, July 4, in Municipal Park on Exeter Road. Music, games and crafts begin at 5 p.m., and the fireworks show starts at 9:10 p.m. Visit germantown-tn.gov.

The Rebel on Beale summer country music concert series will present Mark Chesnutt Thursday, July 4, at 6 p.m. in W.C. Handy Park at Beale and South Third streets. Cost is free. Visit rebel953.com.

The Levitt Shell free summer concert series will feature Sonny Landreth Friday, July 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the shell, 1930 Poplar Ave. in Overton Park. Visit levittshell.org.

The Booksellers at Laurelwood will host Jeff Hulett as part of its Summer Bistro Music Series Saturday, July 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the bookstore, 387 Perkins Road Extended. Visit thebooksellersatlaurelwood.com.

The Levitt Shell free summer concert series will feature The Dunwells Saturday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the shell, 1930 Poplar Ave. in Overton Park. Visit levittshell.org.

The Memphis Chapter International Association of Administrative Professionals will meet Monday, July 8, at 6 p.m. at Memphis Marriott East, 5795 Poplar Ave. Monica Everrett, training coordinator for human resources at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, will present “Dressing Smart.” Cost is $22.
