The Shelby County Clerk’s Office issued 1,160 business licenses in the fourth quarter of 2012, according to The Daily News Online, www.memphisdailynews.com.

That’s a nearly 7 percent drop from the fourth quarter of 2011, when 1,243 licenses were filed in the county.

Hickory Hill North’s 38115 ZIP code led the way in business licenses filed in the fourth quarter, with 73. That was followed by 58 filings in Southeast Shelby County’s 38125 ZIP. After that came 55 filings in 38118 (Oakhaven/Parkway Village), 46 filings in 38017 (Collierville) and 46 filings in 38116 (Whitehaven).

October was the month with the most filings in the fourth quarter (429). Two months later, December was the slowest month for filings (313).
