Kiwanis Club of Memphis will meet Wednesday, April 3, from noon to 1 p.m. at The University Club of Memphis, 1346 Central Ave. William Bussler will present “Our Place in the Universe.” Cost is $18 for nonmembers.

Memphis Child Advocacy Center will hold its annual Children’s Memorial Flag Raising ceremony Wednesday, April 3, at noon outside city hall, 125 N. Main St. The ceremony memorializes children who died in the past year from child abuse and neglect. Visit memphiscac.org.

A sanitation workers’ strike commemoration and economic justice panel discussion, honoring the 45th anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s work in Memphis, will be held Wednesday, April 3, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Mason Temple, 930 Mason St. Speakers include Martin Luther King III, Al Sharpton and Lee Saunders, president of the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees. The Daily News will host its Health Care Reform Seminar and panel discussion Thursday, April 4, at 3:30 p.m. in the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art auditorium, 1934 Poplar Ave. The seminar will address local concerns about the Affordable Care Act’s impact on the public and private sectors.
