Building Permits Remain Steady in September

Shelby County homebuilders in September filed 78 permits averaging 3,374 square feet and $263,645, according to real estate information company Chandler Reports, www.chandlerreports.com.

The total was only a slight improvement from the 76 permits builders filed in September 2011; that month’s permits averaged 2,922 square feet and $205,342.

September’s total also surpassed August, which saw builders file 59 permits averaging 3,350 square feet and $255,814.

Regency Homebuilders LLC filed the most permits of any other builder in September, with 19 averaging 2,910 square feet and $220,949. Charles Morgan of Vintage Homes LLC and Grant Homes filed the second highest, both with six permits.

The highest performing subdivision last month was Wolf River Ranch in Collierville’s 38017, with eight permits averaging 4,043 square feet and $374,286.
