Literacy Mid-South will hold adult learning tutor training Saturday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 902 S. Cooper St. The one-day free training event will provide volunteers the tools needed to help adults who are learning to read. Volunteers commit to serve at least once a week for six months. The City of Memphis Division of Housing and Community Development will host a public meeting Monday, Jan. 30, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at BRIDGES, 477 N. Fifth St. The meeting will discuss the Triangle Noir Redevelopment Project.
WKNO/Channel 10 will air live coverage of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam’s State of the State address Monday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. After the speech, the “Behind the Headlines” panelists will examine the governor’s proposals and their potential impact on the state and region.
