Slight Decline In Q4 Biz Licenses

Fewer business licenses were issued by the Shelby County Clerk’s Office in the fourth quarter of 2011 compared to the same period in 2010.

A total of 1,243 licenses were issued in Q4, a slight decrease from Q4 2010, when 1,350 businesses licenses were issued.

Hickory Hill North’s 38115 ZIP code once again led the way with the highest number of Q4 permits issued (70). It was followed respectively by University of Memphis area’s 38111 (61), Southeast Shelby County’s 38125 (56) and Whitehaven’s 38116 (55).

In Q4 2010, Hickory Hill North’s 38115 led the way with the most permits issued (74), followed by Whitehaven’s 38116 (71), Bartlett’s 38134 (56), Collierville’s 38017 (55) and U of M area’s 38111 (54).

December ranked highest for business licenses issued in Q4, whereas November saw the most licenses issued in Q4 2010.
