The Kiwanis Club of Memphis will meet Wednesday, Feb. 29, from noon to 1 p.m. at The Peabody hotel, 149 Union Ave. Lori Turner-Wilson will speak about social media. Cost is $25 per person.

Business Over Coffee International will present “Grass Roots Business Seminar: Building Your Business From Ground Up” Thursday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at National College of Business and Technology – Memphis, 3545 Lamar Ave. Admission is $25 for BOCI members; $35 for nonmembers; and free for students, in partnership with NCBT/BOCI. Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club will host a seminar titled “The Millennials are Coming” Thursday, March 1, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lipscomb Pitts building, 2670 Union Ave. Extended, suite 200. The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art will host Farmer Mixer Thursday, March 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the museum, 1934 Poplar Ave. The mixer will include a meet and greet with area farmers and locavores, food, drinks and live music. Isabel Wilkerson, author of “The Warmth of Other Suns” and the first African-American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize, will speak Thursday, March 1, at 7 p.m. at the University of Memphis’ Fogelman Executive Conference Center, 330 Innovation Drive. Madison Line Records will hold a launch party Thursday, March 1, at 7:27 p.m. at Visible Music College, 200 Madison Ave. The launch party will celebrate Memphis’ newest full-service, nonprofit record label and will showcase six of the label’s artists. Tours of the Madison Line office will be available with live music from 7:27 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 287 Madison Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
