Looney Ricks Kiss Wins 3 Nat’l Design Awards

Looney Ricks Kiss, also known as LRK Inc., has received three awards in the 2011 Best in American Living Awards by the National Association of Home Builders.

CA2 (Court Annex Two) received a gold in the Smarter Growth category. Facing Court Square Park in Downtown Memphis, CA2 is a 32,000-square-foot, five-story, mixed-use building with ground floor office and retail and 16 upper-story residences.

CA2 also achieved Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) NC Gold, making it the first residential building in Memphis with gold certification. The project is fully leased.

The other projects are in Texas.

Gables West Avenue in Houston was honored with a gold in the Mixed-Use category. Located in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood, Gables West Avenue is a seven-story, mixed-use building comprised of 397 luxury rental residences, offices, restaurants and shops. An eight-level parking deck has separate access for residents and retail customers.

LRK earned a silver for the Neighborhood Design of The Belmont in Dallas. Located five miles northeast of Downtown Dallas, The Belmont is an urban community with 465-apartments in five buildings The project also recently received LEED Silver certification, making it the first Dallas-area apartment building with that designation.
