Memphis-based Meritan Inc. has been recognized for quality improvement and excellence of service by an accreditation agency that promotes best-practice standards for human service delivery organizations.

The Council on Accreditation identified Meritan, a nonprofit group that provides social and health care services to people with special needs, for its commitment to quality management and improvement. The accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administrative operations and its service delivery practices.

Agencies also are measured against national standards of “best practice.”

Meritan serves a four-state area focusing on the needs of seniors, visually and developmentally disabled individuals and special-needs foster children.
