The Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence will hold a workshop Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at its office, 5100 Poplar Ave., suite 502. Participants will review best practices of fundraising and critical issues that must be addressed to be successful in a challenging economic environment. The Memphis Botanic Garden will host Green Your Home Party with the Plants Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the garden, 750 Cherry Road. The evening will include wine, food and experts who will explain how to keep your home green through the cold months. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. The 25th Annual Benny Awards Dinner & Gala will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. David A. Hinson, director of the Minority Business Development Agency in the Department of Commerce, will deliver the keynote address.
