The Memphis Rotary Club will meet Tuesday at noon at the University Club of Memphis, 1346 Central Ave. Stephen Zack, American Bar Association president, will speak. Cost is $18 per person. Advanced reservations are required. For reservations, e-mail Taylor Hughes at taylor@memphisrotary.org.

The Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence will hold a workshop Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at its office, 5100 Poplar Ave., suite 502. Participants will become familiar with the basic principles of grant writing and the tools needed for a successful proposal. The First Thursday Night Out will be held Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Cooper-Young Neighborhood. The evening will include discounts on dining, shopping and free music at the businesses of Cooper-Young.

Lowe’s will hold a special fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis as part of its store opening Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the new store, 425 New Byhalia Road. All Lowe’s gift cards purchased will be matched dollar-for dollar up to $5,000.
