Bill to Move Sales Tax Holiday Weekend Goes to Governor
AP
NASHVILLE (AP) - Legislation that would move this month's sales tax holiday so it won't fall on Easter weekend is headed to the governor for his consideration.
The House unanimously passed the measure on Monday. The Senate unanimously approved it last month.
The bill would make the new dates for the sales tax holiday April 25 through April 27. It is currently scheduled for March 21 to March 23.
The sales tax break applies to clothing, school supplies and computers.
Gov. Phil Bredesen could not be reached for comment about whether he will sign the bill.
