Talk Shoppe will meet today from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South, 3693 Tyndale Drive. Jim Maddox and Terry Smith with Maddox & Smith Appraisal Co. will address "Real Estate Appraisal Values in the Changing Memphis MSA Market." The event is free and open to the public. The Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence will host "Basics of Investing for Nonprofits" today from 9 a.m. to noon at The Assisi Foundation of Memphis Inc., 515 Erin Drive. The cost is $65 for Alliance members, $55 for participants in the Program for Nonprofit Excellence and $99 for nonmembers. The Collierville Chamber of Commerce will host Tennessee Small Business Development Counselor Mark Taylor Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the chamber, 485 Halle Park Drive. Appointments are free and must be made in advance by calling 853-1949.


Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region will provide free HIV testing and counseling Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at its center, 1407 Union Ave., Suite 300, in recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. A candlelight vigil will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the South Memphis Alliance, 1048 S. Bellevue Blvd.


The Arc of the Mid-South will host a training class on how to plan for children's financial future Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Raleigh branch library, 3157 Powers Road. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Megan Long at 507-8568.
