The Memphis Public Library Board of Trustees will meet Monday at noon at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar Ave.

Memphis Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at La Hacienda Restaurant, 3491 Poplar Ave. Anna Martin, executive director of the MHCC, will speak. Cost is $15 for members, $20 for nonmembers and $12.50 for guests. For reservations, call 372-0562 by Monday at noon.

The Tennessee Beta Unit of Parliamentarians will hold its monthly meeting and educational program Monday at 6 p.m. at the Poplar-White Station Branch Library, 5094 Poplar Ave.

The Memphis Challenge Inc. will hold an information session about the legal profession from a diverse group of professionals Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law’s Wade Auditorium, N. 1 Front St. The event is titled “Legal Careers Forum: The ABCs – Advocates, Barristers and Counselors.” The event is free but registration is due Monday. The 2011 NanoDays Celebration at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center will begin Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with a presentation by Dr. Kattesh V. Katti titled “Green Nanotechnology in Medicine and Engineering” at the UT Hamilton Eye Institute, Freeman Auditorium, 930 Madison, third floor. The NanoMedicine Symposium will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the UTHSC Cancer Research Building, 19 S. Manassas St.

The Center City Commission Diversity Committee will meet Tuesday at 2 p.m. at 114 N. Main St.

The University of Memphis will host a lecture by Harvard Medical School Professor Dr. Augustus A. White III Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the University Center, room 350. Dr. White’s presentation is titled “What Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Would Want Us to Know About Health Care Disparities.” A reception and book-signing will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

The Memphis Claims Association will meet Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Select Memphis East, 5795 Poplar Ave. Cost is $25 for members and $35 for guests.

The Memphis Urban League Young Professionals and Elliot Perry will hold a Saving Our Students Mentorship Drive Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mix and Mingle Lounge, 1322 Madison Ave. For more information, contact Christina Watkins at 239-5744 or memphisulyp.youth@gmail.com.
