Funding Board Delays Tenn. Revenue Estimates
ERIK SCHELZIG | Associated Press Writer
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The State Funding Board has delayed setting the revenue projections that the governor and lawmakers use to prepare Tennessee's annual spending plan.
Treasurer David Lillard said at a meeting Thursday that "staff is not ready" to proceed with the revenue estimates. He asked that another meeting be scheduled for Friday.
Lillard, Secretary of State Tre Hargett and Comptroller Justin Wilson are Republicans. The fourth member of the panel, Finance Commissioner Dave Goetz, is a Democrat.
Five economists earlier this week presented forecasts of between 2 percent and 3.5 percent general fund growth for the budget year that begins on July 1.
