JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Ron C. Cooke and Chris Hemphill will compete in the Nov. 24 runoff for justice court judge in Lowndes County.

On Tuesday, Cooke, a former justice court judge, led all five candidates with 405 votes. Hemphill, a lawyer, was second with 322 votes.

Hemphill was appointed to the justice court post after the death of Judge Phillip Robertson in 2008.

In Warren County, Jeff Crevitt defeated Lisa Anglin Counts and Sally Sheffield McDaniel for a justice court post. Crevitt was appointed to the post after the death of his father, Judge Joe Crevitt, in July.

In Hancock County, Philip Moran and Tony Wayne Ladner will be in a Nov. 24 runoff for county supervisor. The winner will fill unexpired term of the late Jay Cuevas, who died in May.
