Jeshahnton “Shaun” Essex has been named assistant administrator at Methodist University Hospital.
Essex will be responsible for environmental services, mail services, food and nutrition services, laboratory, radiology and facility and engineering services. Essex has served as assistant administrator at Methodist North Hospital the past four years.
He holds an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and masters’ degrees in business and health administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

LEED accredited professionals have demonstrated an understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System.
Luke Newell has been appointed special projects division manager at Montgomery Martin Contractors LLC. Newell’s job will consist of quality office space build-outs, retail, restaurant, bank, industrial and government projects. Newell has been with Montgomery Martin since 2006.
Anesha Cowan has joined myM.D. Lakeland, a local health care practice, as a nurse practitioner. The clinic also has extended its hours. It will now be open until 8 p.m. on weekdays, and it will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
City Auto has been recognized as the No. 1 pre-owned Internet Retailer of the Year, making it the fourth consecutive year the dealer has earned the title as ranked by Auto Dealer Monthly. The auto industry publication also ranked City Auto in the top position for Independent Retailer of the Year.
Christian Brothers University’s Minority Health International Research Training has been awarded more than $242,000 per year for five years by the National Institutes of Health. The grant will be used to continue the training of undergraduate and graduate students in basic science, qualitative and clinical research.

Dave Miller, chief investor relations officer for First Horizon National Corp., has been named the best investor relations officer in the small cap division by IR Magazine. First Horizon also won the Grand Prix award for best overall investor relations in the small cap category, which includes companies with market capitalization less than $5 billion.
