6. Rhodes Pays $2.6 Million for Evergreen Presbyterian -

Rhodes College has paid $2.6 million for neighboring Evergreen Presbyterian Church at 613 University St.

7. MasterSingers, Symphony to Perform at Evergreen -

MasterSingers Chorale and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra will perform Sunday, Nov. 6, at 3:30 p.m. at Evergreen Presbyterian Church, 613 University St.

8. Events -

WKNO-FM will premiere a series by news director Candice Ludlow that will address the issue of gangs in Memphis Wednesday, Nov. 2. The series will air in the morning during “Morning Edition” over the next several weeks. The series examines the Street Crimes Unit program through the eyes of Shelby County Sheriff Sergeant Charles Eldridge, who leads the unit. The program is working to eliminate the presence of gangs and drugs on Memphis’ streets. Morning Edition airs from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekday mornings.

9. Award-Winning Composer to Give Rhodes Lecture -

Award-winning composer Jennifer Higdon, Rhodes College’s 2011-2012 Springfield music lecturer, will be at Evergreen Presbyterian Church, 613 University St., Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the art of composing music.

14. Children's Museum Hosts Golf Tournament Today -

The Children's Museum of Memphis (CMOM) hosts the fourth annual CMOM Golf Tournament to benefit the "Yes, EVERY Child!" program at 11:30 a.m. at Memphis Country Club, 3034 Southern Ave. The Yes, EVERY Child! program provides free CMOM admission for less fortunate families. Lunch will be provided starting at 11:30 a.m., and the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Golfers will play in teams of four for $300 a person.
