Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a birthday celebration Monday at 10 a.m. at its Midtown headquarters, 910 Vance Ave. The event is free and open to the public and will include music, a keynote address by Bartholomew Orr, senior pastor at Brown Missionary Baptist Church, cake and volunteers will participate in a special holiday meals delivery. The Mid-South Peace and Justice Center will hold a gala and banquet celebrating its 28th anniversary today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bridges, 477 N. Fifth St. Daphene R. Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association is offering several ways to give back to the community this holiday season.
In conjunction with a special Christmas Day meals delivery, volunteers will deliver gift bags to 1,000 homebound senior meals clients. Those who would like to donate gifts should deliver them by Dec. 10 to MIFA, 910 Vance Ave.
