Plano, Texas-based home décor retailer Garden Ridge has paid $4.6 million for the former Target store at 7697 Winchester Road in Southeast Memphis.

3. Target to Close Winchester Store -

Target is closing one of its Memphis stores in May, part of a nationwide series of store closings.

In a Friday, Jan. 10, update on the retailer’s fourth-quarter outlook, Target announced that after “careful consideration of each location’s financial performance” it was closing eight U.S. stores Saturday, May 3.
