A new microbrewery has its sights set on Memphis’ Edge District for a September opening.

High Cotton Brewing Co. – which its partners say will be housed in a Monroe Avenue property, though a contract has yet to be finalized – will join Boscos and Ghost River Brewing in bringing locally crafted beers to the Memphis market.

The second annual Cooper-Young Regional Beerfest, set for Saturday, Oct. 15, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. will cater to a more intimate crowd.

Cooper-Young Regional Beerfest organizers have added a number of regional beer brewers and local food vendors to the second annual festival, slated for Saturday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. in the Lifelink Memphis parking lot at 1015 S. Cooper St.

5. Tiger Gift Shop Moves To Larger Space -

Tiger Gift Shop is relocating a few doors down from its current location on the Highland Strip near the University of Memphis.

The university retailer, now at 549 S. Highland St., has signed a new 5,000-square-foot lease at 531 S. Highland, in the space formerly occupied by From One Greek to Another.

6. Gas Price Gouging Complaints Top 500 in Tennessee -

Auto club AAA reported Knoxville had the nation’s highest average gasoline price at $4.65 Monday, and Tennessee’s consumer

agency reported it has fielded more than 500 price-gouging complaints from around the state.
