1. Downtown Apts. Finally Under Way -

After two years and some inevitable development hurdles, Greenbrier Partners LLC’s mixed-use development at 436 S. Front St. is quickly taking shape.

2. Local Investors Buy SE Memphis Office Condos -

A portfolio of office condominiums in Southeast Memphis have sold to a group of local investors.

Winchester Office Plaza at 5501, 5507 and 5489 Winchester Road has sold to QSM Holdings LLC for $273,333.

3. Keller Williams, Kendall Haney Realty Merge -

Keller Williams Realty Inc. continues to expand its standing as the second-largest real estate firm in the Mid-South area by merging with a Memphis-based firm.

4. Housing Divided -

A couple of years ago, when Clay Thompson of Memphis decided it was time to stop renting, he set his sights on the Downtown condominium market. He was especially interested in the old warehouses in the South Main Historic Arts District that had been converted to condos.

5. Events - The Memphis Rotary Club -

The Memphis Rotary Club will meet today at noon in Ballroom A of the Memphis Cook Convention Center, 255 N. Main St. The featured speaker will be R.C. Johnson, athletic director at the University of Memphis. The cost is $18 per person. Reservations are required and can be made to Taylor Hughes at 526-1318 or taylor@memphisrotary.org.

The Engineers’ Club of Memphis Inc. will hold its weekly lunch meeting today at noon at the Holiday Inn-University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. Ray Wofford, the special projects executive for ACO Polymer Products, will speak on “The ABC’s of Trench Drainage.” The cost is $12 and no reservations are required.

7. South Main Association To Discuss Retail Patterns -

Downtown retail patterns and areas for expanded opportunity in that sector of the market will be the topic of discussion at next week’s South Main Association member meeting. The group will meet June 10 at the Downtown Condo Connection in the 420 South Front Condos at 420 S. Front St., Suite 107.

8. Housing Dark Cloud Still Looms -

It's not easy to find a silver lining in the dark cloud that hovered over February's residential housing numbers. With home sales in Shelby County dropping 15.6 percent from the same month last year, the real estate slump that began in 2007 appears to be in full force.

9. University of Memphis Law School Hosts Golf Classic -

June 5

The University of Memphis' Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law hosts "Drive for Downtown" Golf Classic, which starts at 8 a.m. at Spring Creek Ranch, 380 S. Collierville-Arlington Road. The tournament begins with breakfast and registration at 8 a.m. followed by a golf clinic at 9 a.m. and a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the law school.
