1. Council Delays Vote On Graceland-Area Car Lot -

Memphis City Council members delayed a vote Tuesday, Oct. 22, on a used car lot on Elvis Presley Boulevard near the site of the new Guesthouse at Graceland 140-room resort-style hotel.

The used car lot at 3510 Elvis Presley Blvd. would be a new site for the Hot Wheels car lot, which is farther south on Elvis Presley Boulevard on property owned by Graceland.

2. Council Considers Car Lot By New Graceland Hotel -

The Memphis City Council takes up a special use permit Tuesday, Oct. 21, to allow a used car lot at 3510 Elvis Presley Blvd., south of Winchester Road, by Babak Makki.

3. Airport Center Signs Two New Tenants -

Memphis International Airport Center in Southeast Memphis has recently experienced positive leasing activity.

Lansing Building Products, a major supplier of building products such as siding, windows, gutters, trims, railings, columns and stone, renewed its 24,524-square-foot lease at 3510 Winchester Road.

4. Lender Buys MIAC for $14.3 Million -

Memphis International Airport Center sold back to the lender for $14.3 million Wednesday, Oct. 31, on the Shelby County Courthouse steps following a foreclosure.

CSMC 2007-C1 Air Center LLC bought the nine-building, 1.1 million-square-foot industrial portfolio from substitute trustee Harris P. Quinn, shareholder with Prochaska Thompson Quinn & Ferraro P.C. The lender was the only bidder at the sale.

7. Ride Continues for Whitehaven Complex -

One chapter in the continuing saga of the New Horizon Park apartments has been closed, but more twists are likely coming for the embroiled property.

The sprawling, 933-unit multifamily complex at 3578 Millbranch Road in Whitehaven was foreclosed and sold for $21.4 million in a Nov. 20 substitute trustee’s sale to Wells Fargo NA. The seller was Spencer Clift, trustee for the Health, Education and Housing Facility Board of the city (HEHFB) of Memphis.

8. Apartments Sold In $21M Trustee’s Sale -

The New Horizon Apartments, a 933-unit community at 3578 Millbranch Road and 1767 Winchester Road, has sold for $21.4 million in a trustee’s sale to Wells Fargo NA. The sale closed Nov. 20, and the seller was Spencer Clift, trustee for the Health, Education and Housing Facility Board of the city of Memphis.

9. California Investor Sees Memphis As 'Long-Haul' Market -

Thanks to his company's recent purchase of The Birches Townhouses in Whitehaven for $3.6 million, Bill Sparano can be counted among the out-of-town investors who are bullish on Memphis real estate.
