1. Hollywood Feed Expands, Renews Local Leases -

Hollywood Feed has renewed and expanded two of its Memphis locations.

The Memphis-based natural and holistic pet food merchant is growing its 2648 Broad Ave. warehouse from 44,400 square feet to 77,763 square feet.

2. Hard Work, Sincerity Keep Albertine Thriving -

When Gary Albertine Sr. got into the real estate business in 1948, an average 1,500-square-foot house sold for about $15,000.

Contracts were one-page long, men dominated the industry and the eastern boundary of Memphis city limits was Goodlett Street. It was a simpler time, when business was based on trust and word of mouth.

3. Shoemaker Looks To 2012 With Rebuilt Office -

Shoemaker Financial is now “fully engaged in rebuilding” its Germantown office that was damaged by a fire in late 2010.

Construction began at Shoemaker’s space in the 2176 West Street office park almost a year to the week after some of the firm’s employees arrived at work in October 2010 around the same time fire trucks were showing up.

4. Shoemaker Financial Close to Breaking Ground -

Shoemaker Financial expects to break ground around March 1 on a rebuilt office after an early morning fire in October damaged some of the company’s office space in the complex at 2176 West St. in Germantown.

5. Shoemaker Financial Recovers From Fire -

If everything goes to plan, Shoemaker Financial will be back up and running in Germantown by Tuesday afternoon.

That was the assessment of company president Jim Shoemaker a few hours after he and other Shoemaker employees pulled into the parking lot at 2176 West St. Monday morning around the same time fire trucks arrived.
