1. Malone Takes Early Vote In Mayoral Primary -

Former Shelby County Commissioner Deidre Malone took the early vote in the three-way Democratic primary for Shelby County Mayor.

The first results of the Tuesday, May 6, election night showed Malone leading rivals county commissioner Steve Mulroy and former Shelby County Schools board member Kenneth Whalum Jr.

Memphis Brooks Museum of Art will host Vin-A-Que, part of the 2013 Memphis Wine + Food Series, Friday, May 10, at 7 p.m. at the museum, 1934 Poplar Ave. The event will include snout-to-tail barbecue, other dishes prepared by local chefs, specialty cocktails and wines, and live music.
