9. ‘Perfect Storm’ -

Office sublease space reached a record high in the first quarter, and local experts are forecasting even more leases from one lessee to another to hit the market prior to year-end.

Office subleasing totaled 600,664 square feet during the first three months of the year, according to Cushman & Wakefield/Commercial Advisors LLC’s Q1 office market report. That’s nearly 14 percent of total available space.

Officials broke ground on a new development in Germantown Tuesday that will combine turn-of-the-century architecture with state-of-art medical imaging technology.

The Salvaggio Group LLC held a ceremonial ground-breaking in a lot on Poplar Pike next to Germantown High School, the future site of the Brownstone building, which will house the corporate and clinical offices of Memphis Radiological PC.
