1. Memphis Bar to Hold Veterans Legal Clinic -

The Memphis Bar Association’s will hold a pro bono legal clinic for veterans Tuesday, March 25, at the Veterans Administration Center, 1407 Union Ave., from noon to 2 p.m. The bar association effort to assist veterans averages about 30 veterans as clients a month.

4. State Approves Move For Planned Parenthood -

The board for the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency this week approved Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis Region’s plans to move from 1407 Union Ave. to 1750 Madison Ave.

5. Diocese: Proposed Abortion, Women’s Health Site Too Close to School -

The Catholic Diocese of Memphis says the proposed new location for Planned Parenthood on Madison Avenue is too close to its high school.

The Rev. Michael P. Joyce, chancellor for the diocese, wrote a letter to the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency opposing the application that Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis Region has filed to relocate from 1407 Union Ave. to 1750 Madison. The board for the state agency is scheduled to review the certificate of need application next Wednesday.

6. Planned Parenthood, Others Seek New Locations -

Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region Inc. plans to move to another location in Midtown because its lease won’t be renewed, while the owner of two long-term care hospitals looks to build new facilities because of an eminent domain lawsuit.

7. DeSoto Has Most Vacant Medical Offices -

DeSoto County has the highest vacancy rate for medical offices, while central Memphis ranks second, according to a report released Tuesday by CB Richard Ellis Memphis.

Central Memphis encompasses Downtown, Midtown and the University of Memphis areas within the Interstate 240 loop.

9. UTMG Renovation To Begin at Midtown Tower -

Investec Realty Services Inc., manager of the 1407 Union Ave. building in Midtown, has filed a $501,000 permit application with the city-county Office of Construction Code Enforcement to renovate 80,000 square feet on seven floors of the building for the University of Tennessee Medical Group Inc.

10. UT Medical Consolidates Offices -

UT Medical Group Inc. has signed a lease for up to 80,000 square feet of office space at 1407 Union Ave. where it will consolidate its administrative support functions.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center today will hold a dedication ceremony honoring Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. for its gift of three buildings: 910, 920 and 930 Madison Ave. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in the Freeman Auditorium at the Hamilton Eye Institute, 930 Madison Ave.
