Early voting in advance of the March 8 election day topped 2,000 through Saturday – 2,161 to be exact.

Both sides of the schools consolidation question on the ballot worked to rally voters over the weekend as early voting expanded Saturday to sites across the city.

Harding Academy of Memphis Inc. has bought a residential property next to its Macon Road campus in Cordova. The school paid $665,000 for a 6.3-acre lot at 8436 Macon Road from Kathleen Tower, Betty Copeland, Donald R. Downs and Charles A. Downs. The sale closed Oct. 1.
