The staff of Camp Good Times is hosting its third annual Crawfish Boil & Beer Bust Benefit on Saturday, April 6, from noon until 6 p.m. at Neil’s, 5728 Quince Road.

8. Rooftop Revelry -

The Peabody hotel is poised to join the Madison Hotel in launching its newest round of rooftop revelry this week, and the mission for this year’s shindigs is the same as always.

Both hotels hope to bring a crowd-pleasing mix of song, dance and drink to the tops of two prime Downtown landmarks.

9. Sunset Atop the Madison Starts Thursday -

The Madison Hotel is kicking off a new season of Sunset Atop the Madison Thursday, April 12.

First up is Elmo & the Shades from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Weather permitting, Sunset will continue every Thursday night through the end of August.

10. Newcomers Highlight BSMF Lineup -

Memphis in May’s salute to Belgium will once again kick off with headline musical acts from across the country, singing on the river, in the sometimes muddy Tom Lee Park.

Last week Kallen Esperian sent her world-renowned operatic soprano soaring through Calvary Episcopal Church.

The week before Ruby Wilson proved once again that she’s the Queen of Beale by beling out bluesy renditions at the historic church.

Jim Dickinson once said that the hardest nights for a touring musician were Christmas, Easter and Memphis.

For Memphis musicians, those hard times can last all year long.

13. Up on the Roof -

Thursday night is party night in Memphis, at least from mid-April until the end of August on the rooftop of the Madison Hotel.

Sunset atop the Madison Hotel Concert Series is a cooperative effort between the Madison Hotel, Resource Entertainment Group and local entertainment. The music ranges from jazz to blues to rockabilly to oldies.

14. Caravan Event A 'Blowout' Success -

Two of Memphis’ biggest musical assets came together last week when Ardent Studios hosted the Beale Street Caravan’s annual Blowout fundraiser.

Ardent has been bringing in major talent to Memphis for years: The Vaughn Brothers, the White Stripes, ZZ Top and B.B. King have all recorded there. The Beale Street Caravan has been exposing the world to Memphis music for years.

The Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence will hold its annual conference “The New Nonprofit Sector: Redefined, Retooled and Resilient” Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Clark Opera Memphis Center, 6745 Wolf River Blvd. Sonal Shah, head of the White House’s Domestic Policy Council’s Office of Social Innovation and Civil Participation, will speak. 17. Music Commission To Honor Group of Women -

Thursday, the Memphis and Shelby County Music Commission will honor 11 women who have contributed to Memphis music.

The Emissaries of Memphis Music luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. in The Tower Room Restaurant on the top floor of Clark Tower, 5100 Poplar Ave.
