4. Sullivan Inks Lease For Toyota Ctr. -

Sullivan Branding has finalized its lease in the Toyota Center, where it will move about two-thirds of its workforce by the end of the week.

About 40 of Sullivan Branding’s 65 Memphis employees will relocate from 400 Union Ave. to occupy approximately half of the sixth floor of the 175,000-square-foot, eight-story Downtown office building at 175 Toyota Center, near the intersection of Third and Union.

Monica Wharton, senior vice president and chief legal officer and general counsel at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis, is taking care of business since being recruited by the hospital in 2008 to lead its legal team. She was on board during a transitional period for The MED, which was in poor financial health.

Jason Herrington, a financial adviser at Shoemaker Financial, has been named a field director for the firm. He will have the responsibility of advising and mentoring new advisers during their two-year training period.

The Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police presented U.S. Rep. John DeBerry the Legislator of the Year award. DeBerry, who represents District 90 in Memphis, is chairman of the House Children and Family Affairs committee.
