A specialty retailer of high-quality tile will open its first location in Memphis later this year.
The Tile Shop is in the final stages of negotiating a roughly 20,000-square-foot lease at 1245 Germantown Parkway, between Cordova Road and Autumn Creek Drive, in the Germantown Square Shopping Center in Cordova, according to company representative Lindsey Rose.

The trend manifested itself in a healthy pickup in mortgage activity last month. Shelby County’s mortgage market is continuing to turn a corner, with more buyers during the second quarter signing on the dotted line and bankers handing over a shiny new set of keys.
During the second three months of 2012, banks and mortgage lenders in Shelby County made 2,149 purchase mortgages, up 14 percent from the 1,878 mortgages during Q2 2011, according to real estate information company Chandler Reports, www.chandlerreports.com.
