At the Memphis Bar Association’s Annual Meeting Thursday at The Peabody hotel, the MBA announced its 2010 officers and new members of its board of directors.
Immediate past president Art Quinn passed the gavel to incoming president Ricky E. Wilkins of the Law Offices of Ricky E. Wilkins. John Cannon of Shuttleworth Williams PLLC and Gary K. Smith of Apperson Crump & Maxwell PLC automatically move to the positions of vice president/president-elect and treasurer, respectively. Many TennCare patients who fall in the “Daniels” category may lose their benefits as early as October because of a 21-year-old injunction being lifted against the state Medicaid-managed program.
To qualify for the Daniels class of TennCare, a person has to have received, at least once, a Supplemental Security Income check, meaning they were low-income and had a relatively serious disability.

Some of the papers are The Shelby Sun Times, The Collierville Independent and The East Shelby Review. Wright previously was publisher of 17 Dallas and Ft.Worth-area daily and weekly newspapers in the Star Community Newspapers group.
