1. Cardinals Finding Way Back to Playoffs -

Everyone always says the expectations are highest in their clubhouse. But when the St. Louis Cardinals say it, well, it has a certain depth. The past decade has seen seven playoff trips and two World Series championships. And this season, the Cardinals are hunting their fourth straight Red October.

2. More Than Pujols Can Say -

When manager Tony La Russa retired and slugger Albert Pujols went panning for gold in California, there was no reason to expect the St. Louis Cardinals’ 2012 season would stop just a game short of the World Series.

Talk Shoppe presents "How to Buy at Auction" with Lance Walker of Walker Auctions today from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South, 3693 Tyndale Drive. The meeting is dedicated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Item donations will be accepted and auctioned off to attendees at the end of the meeting, and all proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Memphis Rotary Club will hold a meeting today at noon in Ballroom B of the Memphis Cook Convention Center, 255 N. Main St. Mike Beebe, governor of Arkansas, will be the speaker. Cost is $18 and reservations can be made by calling 526-1318 or e-mailing taylor@memphisrotary.org.

The Engineers' Club of Memphis will hold its weekly meeting today at noon at the Holiday Inn-University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave. The event is $12. Joseph M. Polk, manager of construction for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, will speak on "Current Airport Projects and Alternative Project Delivery Systems." No reservations are required.
