1. Memphis Bar Association Announces New Positions -

The Memphis Bar Association has its new officers for 2013.

Linda Warren Seely, director of private attorney involvement with Memphis Area Legal Services Inc., is the 2013 president. Kirk Caraway, an attorney with Allen, Summers, Simpson, Lillie & Gresham PLLC, is the new vice president. Tommy Parker, an attorney with Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC is the new secretary/treasurer.

3. Google Enables Virtual Tour of Amro Music -

Google has extended its Street View technology inside select shops and businesses around the country.

And the new feature, which allows users to search for a participating business and then virtually browse inside it, has started to show up in Memphis.

4. US Moves To Jump Start Bank Rescue Effort -

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Bush administration announced Monday it is moving quickly to implement a $700 billion rescue program, including consulting with private law firms on how to buy ownership shares in banks to help thaw frozen lending and get the economy moving again.

5. Simpson Joins FirstBank As Local President -

Ted Simpson has been hired by FirstBank as its Memphis city president.

Simpson previously served as executive vice president and chief lending officer for Magna Bank and has experience with National Bank of Commerce and Central Park Capital. He also is currently on the board of Lambda Alpha, a real estate professional organization.

6. Dixon Gallery and Gardens Appoints Sharp as Director -

The Dixon Gallery and Gardens Board of Trustees has appointed Kevin Sharp as the museum's new director. Sharp received a bachelor's degree in art history from Central Missouri State University and completed graduate studies at the University of Illinois in art history and architecture. He previously served as the research curator for The Art Institute of Chicago and as the curator of American art at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Fla.

8. FBI Special Agent Harrison Named PRSA Communicator of the Year -

My Harrison has been named the 2006 PRSA Communicator of the Year by the Memphis chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She is a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in charge of the Memphis field office. Since her arrival in Memphis two years ago, she has supervised a number of high-profile federal investigations, including "Operation Tennessee Waltz," "Operation Tarnished Blue" and "Operation Main Street Sweeper."
