1. American, US Airways Name Post-Merger Leadership -

DALLAS (AP) – The new American Airlines will have more top executives from smaller but more successful US Airways than from the current American.

Five US Airways executives will follow their current CEO, Doug Parker, when he takes control after the airlines complete their proposed merger. Three executives from American parent AMR Corp. were named to the new company's leadership team.

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Supreme Court's decision to hear a new case from Michigan on the politically charged issue of affirmative action offers an intriguing hint that the justices will not use a separate challenge already pending from Texas for a broad ruling bringing an end to the consideration of race in college admissions.

3. Brooks Unreels Film Series -

The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art this month continues a long-running tradition of adding moving pictures to its collection of visual arts with a series of independent films meant to warm up cold January nights.

4. Skypeck Elected to Brewers Association Board -

Chuck Skypeck, founder of Bosco’s Brewing Co. and Ghost River Brewing, has been elected to the board of directors for the Brewers Association, a Boulder, Colo.-based nonprofit trade group dedicated to promoting and protecting America’s small and independent brewers. Skypeck previously served on the board from 2001 to 2006.
