1. Archer-Malmo Grows With Four Hires -

Memphis-based marketing communications agency archer-malmo continues to grow its ranks.

The agency has made four new hires, including Lukus Blackford as a search engine optimization and analytics specialist, Cary New as a public relations senior account executive, Casey Lissau as associate creative director and Christina Comas as retail marketing account coordinator.

2. Daniels Takes on New Role at Greater Memphis Chamber -

The Greater Memphis Chamber has promoted Amy Daniels to the newly created position of senior vice president, membership and communications. Daniels, who has worked at the chamber for 17 years, will now oversee the membership department while continuing in her prior role, leading the communications and programming department.

The list of categories covers everything from a single blog post to multiple day events. Vox chair Christina Meek said PRSA Memphis has several categories because the communications industry encompasses so many types of jobs from social media manager, writer, media relations, marketing, videographer, event planner and more.

5. PRSA Honors White as Professional of the Year -

Beena White, chair of the 2012 Vox Awards Committee and founder of cocoabeens communications, was named Professional of the Year Friday, April 13, at the University Club of Memphis.

The honor is presented to a member of the Memphis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for exceptional professional contributions.

6. Chamber Takes Trip to NYC for Media Tour -

Representatives from the Greater Memphis Chamber, the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau and Mayor A C Wharton Jr.’s office visited New York City Monday through Wednesday to meet with national publications and share information about the Memphis business community.

7. Electrolux to Open Memphis Plant -

Electrolux, a Swedish home appliance manufacturer, will open a Memphis manufacturing plant that will employ 1,300 people initially.

The announcement is to be made Wednesday at the annual luncheon of the Greater Memphis Chamber, sources have told The Daily News.

8. BofA CEO Has Ties to Bluff City -

Brian Moynihan, Bank of America’s president and CEO, has a family connection to Memphis.

His brother, Patrick, now a missionary in Haiti, lived in Memphis in the 1990s when he was a commodities trader for Louis Dreyfus.
