1. Nineteenth Century Club Case Shifts to Fundraising -

Opponents of the still-pending demolition of the Midtown mansion known as the Nineteenth Century Club are in the fundraising mode.

They have until Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. to raise $50,000, the additional court bond Shelby County Chancellor Walter Evans ordered Wednesday, Oct. 16, to stay demolition as his September ruling that demolition can proceed is appealed.

4. Bayh Cites Strident Partisanship in Leaving Senate -

WASHINGTON (AP) - Two-term Sen. Evan Bayh says ever-shriller partisanship and the frustrations of gridlock made it time for him to leave Congress. Republicans aren't buying it, saying he and fellow Democrats sense that voters will be after their heads this fall.

5. Pitts Receives Compliance Expert Certification -

Dallas Pitts, compliance officer at FAA Federal Credit Union, has received Cuna's Credit Union Compliance Expert certification.

The certification covers all federal regulations for credit unions, as well as giving an overview of state regulations.
Pitts has worked for FAA FCU for more than 11 years, holding positions as a teller, member services representative and compliance officer.

6. MATCU Banks on Judy Conrad as VP of Lending -

Judy Conrad has been named vice president of lending at Memphis Area Teachers' Credit Union (MATCU). Conrad previously served as vice president and manager of BankTennessee in Ripley. She has worked in the financial industry for almost 40 years.

Larry Jensen has received the 2005 Pinnacle Award for Commercial Broker of the Year from the Memphis Area Association of Realtors' Commercial Council. Jensen is president and CEO of Commercial Advisors LLC. He has more than 30 years of experience in real estate.
