1. Beebe Proposes $5 Billion Budget -

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas' public schools and prisons would get funding boosts under a $5 billion budget plan Gov. Mike Beebe unveiled Tuesday. But his administration warned that the state could face a sizable hole in the budget if lawmakers follow through with a plan to halt an expansion of Medicaid.

2. UT Pharmacy Dean Named Pharmacist of Year -

Dr. Dick R. Gourley of Germantown was presented the Tom C. Sharp 2010 Pharmacist of the Year Award at the 124th Annual Convention of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association in Kingsport, Tenn.

Gourley has served as dean of the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy since 1989.

Pam Davidson has been elected president of the Memphis chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute. Davidson will serve as the third female president in the organization’s 50-year history.
