1. Affordable Townhome Community Opens in Holly Springs -

A new affordable townhome community in Holly Springs, Miss., opened Friday, Feb. 21.

Murphy Lane, a community of 36 townhomes, was developed by Rosedale Corp. of Oxford, Miss., with federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits, which provide a dollar-for-dollar reduction on federal income tax for developers.

2. SBA Honors Graduates of e200 Program -

The U.S. Small Business Administration recently honored new graduates of its Emerging 200 Initiative, or e200, at a ceremony at Southwest Tennessee Community College.

SBA identified 14 inner-city businesses from Memphis that demonstrated a high potential for growth. The agency then provided the small businesses with a free, six-month course of in-depth business education focused on organization management, growth strategies and management, market development and strategic planning.

3. Grizzlies’ Run a Win for Downtown -

It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game – or is it? Grizzlies attendance was up as they finished off their winning season over the weekend.

The team saw a first-round playoff victory, beating the San Antonio Spurs and notching their first playoff series win before losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 of the semifinals on Sunday.
