Two recent leases at Parkway Place Office have brought the center to 100 percent occupancy. Guardian Community Living LLC signed a 10,500-square-foot lease in the 70,000-square-foot office annex that is situated in Cordova.

Registration is now being taken for the Oct. 8 Memphis Bioworks Business Association Lunch & Learn event.

A panel discussion titled “An Insider View of Entrepreneurship in Bioscience: Successful Case Studies in Memphis” is on the agenda. Panel participants will include Bob Bean, president and chief executive officer of Transnetyx; Preston H. Dorsett, executive in residence at INNOVA; and Daryl Newman, chief executive officer of CAGENIX.

17. Former Mayor Hackett Tapped For CEO Post at Children's Museum -

Richard C. "Dick" Hackett has been named chief executive officer (CEO) of the Children's Museum of Memphis. Hackett officially will take office July 17. Hackett served as mayor of Memphis from 1982 to 1992. He also served as senior vice president at ALSAC, the fundraising arm of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, for nine years after his mayoral term.
