7. Texas Roadhouse Building Sells for $2.8 Million -

An Arizona-based real estate investment trust has a purchased a Texas Roadhouse restaurant for $2.8 million.

Spirit Master Funding II LLC, an affiliate of Phoenix-based Spirit Capital Realty, acquired the restaurant property at 2810 New Brunswick Road from Spirit Master Funding LX LLC, according to a Feb. 26 warranty deed.

8. Bid to End Tennessee Carry Permit Requirement Fails in House -

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A proposal to eliminate Tennessee's requirement to obtain a state-issued permit to openly carry handguns was defeated in a House subcommittee on Wednesday.

Republican Rep. Micah Van Huss Jonesborough said he introduced the measure because he believes that "current laws here in Tennessee infringe on the Second Amendment of our U.S. Constitution."

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – Trading in shares of RadioShack was halted Tuesday after the company disclosed a dispute with one of its lenders.

Salus Capital Partners is claiming that the struggling electronics retailer had breached covenants on a $250 million term loan, the company said.

17. Hillwood to Launch Two Spec Buildings in DeSoto County -

A Texas-based development firm will start turning dirt soon on a massive new business park in DeSoto County.

Hillwood Investment Properties is expected to begin site work in around 30 days on Legacy Park, a 266-acre distribution and business park on the south side of Goodman Road, just east of Hacks Cross Road near Polk Lane.

21. Tennessee Ranked Top State for Foreign Investment -

Tennessee has been ranked the top state in the nation for foreign direct investment job commitments in 2013.

That's according to the recently released 2014 Global Location Trends report.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Five years after the Great Recession officially ended, most states still haven't regained all the jobs they lost, even though the nation as a whole has.

In May, the overall economy finally recovered all 9 million jobs that vanished in the worst downturn since the 1930s. Another month of solid hiring is expected in the U.S. jobs report for June that will be released Thursday.

38. US Home Prices Rose at Solid Pace in January -

WASHINGTON (AP) – U.S. home prices rose in January after three months of declines as a tight supply of properties likely supported prices despite slower sales.

Real estate data provider CoreLogic said Tuesday that prices rose 0.9 percent in January after dipping 0.1 percent in December. Over the past 12 months, home prices have risen 12 percent, the biggest year-over-year gain in more than eight years.
