2. Boyle Sells More Lots at Spring Creek Ranch -

After an initial offering went so well earlier this year, a group of area homebuilders has acquired 17 more lots at The Village at Spring Creek Ranch from Boyle Investment Co.

3. Madewell Coming to Saddle Creek -

The Shops of Saddle Creek in Germantown will soon gain another national retailer with no other presence in Tennessee.

Madewell, a subsidiary of J. Crew Group Inc., has signed a 3,061-square-foot lease in The Shops of Saddle Creek North, 7509 Poplar Ave., in part of the space that was previously The Gap in between James Avery Jewelry and Brighton Collectables.

4. Groups: $12 Million Mystery Donation was Crime -

WASHINGTON (AP) – Two election watchdog organizations on Thursday urged the Justice Department and Federal Election Commission to investigate more than $12 million in campaign contributions that were mysteriously funneled through two little-known companies in Tennessee to a prominent tea party group. The origin of the money, the largest anonymous political donations in a campaign year filled with them, remains a secret.

5. Levenger Leases Up EastPark IV -

A Delray Beach, Fla.-based specialty retail company is relocating its Memphis distribution warehouse within the Southeast submarket.

Levenger has inked 96,400 square feet in EastPark Distribution Center IV, 5265 Hickory Hill Road, bringing the 372,800-square-foot building to full occupancy. Levenger also has an operation at 3530 E. Raines Road.

6. Shadowy Tennessee Donor Behind Record Campaign Contributions -

WASHINGTON (AP) – A lawyer in Tennessee who is mysteriously linked to millions of dollars in campaign contributions steered to congressional candidates doubled his investments in the weeks before Election Day and quietly funneled $6.8 million more to a prominent Tea Party group, according to new financial statements filed with the government.

7. National Capital Management Expands -

National Capital Management LLC has expanded by 3,900 square feet on the third floor at Southwind Office Center A, bringing the company’s total lease to 12,253 square feet.

8. Market Value -

Investor Warren Buffett admitted in his annual letter to shareholders recently that he was “dead wrong” in his early 2011 prediction that the housing market would have begun recovery by now.

10. Magna Bank Positions for Solid 2011 Despite ’10 Loss -

Memphis’ third-largest locally based financial institution closed the books on 2010 by reporting a loss but also touting investments made across the board in the bank as well as hinting at an expansion of its branch network.

11. Family Dollar Signs 2 Leases for Stores -

Family Dollar has signed a 12,000-square-foot lease at 2754 Lamar Ave. Shawn Massey, partner with The Shopping Center Group LLC, represented the tenant. Harold Blockman with Keller Williams Realty Inc. represented the landlord, Chong K and Dul S. Pae.

12. Healthy Industry -

Throughout a prolonged recession and anemic recovery, hospitals and health care companies have given Memphis a powerful antidote to an ailing economy.

They have invested more than a billion dollars in new construction and equipment, expanded operations and kept tens of thousands of people working.
