Dustin Johnson has committed to play in the FedEx St. Jude Classic, to be held the week of June 8-14 at TPC Southwind.

Johnson, the world’s No. 8-ranked golfer, won the 2012 FESJC as he made final-round birdies on holes 16 and 17. Currently, Johnson ranks third on the PGA Tour money list and ranks fifth in FedExCup points.

Jamie M. Johnson has joined the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law as law school registrar.

In her new role, Johnson will have direct oversight of the registrar’s office and duties relating to enrollment verification, managing student’s academic records, and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, maintenance and delivery of all law school institutional data. Johnson will also work closely with the dean of academic affairs to administer exams, determine class rank and report grades.

Bank of Bartlett has shelled out more than a million dollars to buy back Germantown property that was in foreclosure, according to a document filed with the Shelby County Register of Deeds.

The original debtor is Ken Sledd Co. Inc., which took out a $1.4 million loan through Bank of Bartlett in 2005. The bank bought the property at a foreclosure sale for $1.1 million.

Dr. Fred Johnson has been appointed to the Shelby County Board of Education. Johnson also is a Memphis Area Teachers' Credit Union (MATCU) board member. Johnson will fill the vacancy left by Wyatt Bunker, who left the board to serve on the County Commission. Johnson has served as a MATCU board member since 1996.

The Public Relations Society of America's Memphis chapter has named Memphis City Schools superintendent Carol Johnson as its Communicator of the Year for 2005. Johnson accepted the honor at the organization's January chapter meeting. PRSA presents the award annually to a respected member of the community who invests time or talent in communicating a specific message to public audiences. Johnson replaced superintendent Johnnie Watson after his retirement in 2003. She had served as superintendent of Minneapolis Public Schools since 1997.
