A healthcare company in Blount County has announced an expansion project that it says will create 450 new jobs.

The Daily Times reports TeamHealth, which provides outsourced physician staffing for hospitals, announced Wednesday that it plans a new building in Louisville.

4. Automotive Supplier Expanding in Tennessee -

A leading global automotive supplier plans to build a new facility in McMinn County that’s expected to create as many as 400 new jobs.

Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd announced this week that DENSO Manufacturing will build the new 224,000-square-foot facility at its existing location in Athens.

The purchase price breaks down to $72,303. The buyer filed a $23.6 million loan with Compass Bank in association with the purchase.

17. Sears Crosstown Will Receive New Name -

The team behind the redevelopment of the Sears Crosstown site will unveil a new name for the development during a Feb. 21 community groundbreaking ceremony.

“Until now, when Memphians have talked about the building, they’ve called it Sears Crosstown,” the development team said in a statement announcing the groundbreaking ceremony, which will be held 88 years to the day after the initial groundbreaking in 1927. “But Sears is long gone, and the surrounding neighborhood proudly claims the name Crosstown. Now it’s time for something new.”

18. Taxing Question -

With gas prices in a historic plunge, the idea of hiking state and federal gas taxes and fees to pay for transportation infrastructure improvements is gaining traction.

Democratic and Republican leaders in both chambers of Congress in recent weeks have signaled a willingness to approve an increase in the federal gas tax to help fund improvements to the nation’s crumbling roads and bridges. Meanwhile, a new statewide coalition has launched to support an increase and reform in Tennessee’s transportation fees.

20. Airlines Expect Another Big Year With Help From Cheaper Fuel -

DALLAS (AP) – Leaders of United and Southwest gave an upbeat forecast for 2015 that combined strong travel demand and cheaper fuel. Airline stocks soared on Thursday.

The price of jet fuel has dropped by about half since September, boosting airline profits and tamping down fear that global economic weakness could hurt the carriers. Analysts expect all four of the biggest U.S. airline operators to post bigger profits this year than in 2014.

21. Raymond James Tower Fetches $20 Million -

How much is a 21-story skyscraper overlooking the Mississippi River worth? About $1 million a floor.

New York-based investor Jacob Sofer will pay Parkway Properties around $20 million for the Raymond James Tower at 50 N. Front St. Downtown, according to several people with knowledge of the transaction. The Shelby County Assessor of Property’s 2014 appraisal for the 340,000-square-foot building is $24 million.

22. EDGE Approves Ikea Incentives -

Swedish furniture retailer Ikea has been awarded an 11-year tax break to develop a $64 million store near Interstate 40 and Germantown Parkway that is expected to employ 175 people.

The board of the city-county Economic Development Growth Engine on Wednesday, Jan. 21, approved the controversial payment-in-lieu-of-taxes incentive on an 8-1 vote. Larry Jackson voted against the measure.

29. Phoenix REIT Purchases 2 Walgreens for $11.3 Million -

A Phoenix-based real estate investment trust has acquired two Walgreens stores from the retailer’s parent company.

ARCP WG Memphis TN LLC and ARCP WG Bartlett 5950 Stage Road LLC, both affiliates of Phoenix-based American Realty Capital Properties, acquired the Walgreens stores at 3670 Riverdale Road and 5950 Stage Road in Bartlett from the Walgreen Co. for $11.3 million, according to two Nov. 24 special warranty deeds.

30. Lakeland Apartments Sell for $34.7 Million -

An affiliate of a New York-based real estate investment firm has bought the Stonebridge Crossing Apartments in Lakeland for $34.7 million.

Lakeland Apartments TN Associates LLC, which is affiliated with New York-based Somerset Partners LLC, bought the 432-unit apartment community at 9300 U.S. 64 from MRB Stonebridge LP, according to a Jan. 5 special warranty deed. 49. US Factory Orders Fall 0.7 Percent in November -

Orders to U.S. factories fell for a fourth straight month in November, with demand in a key category that signals business investment plans down for a third month.

The Commerce Department said Tuesday factory orders dropped 0.7 percent in November after a similar 0.7 percent fall in October. The November weakness came from decreases in demand for primary metals, industrial machinery and military aircraft.

An affiliate of a Georgia-based real estate investment company has acquired a Cordova shopping center for $1.2 million.

CPT Berryhill LLC, which is affiliated with Marietta, Ga.-based Clifton Property Trust, bought the 17,500-square-foot Shops at Berryhill shopping center at 1890 Berryhill Road in Cordova from Berry Hill 169 LLC, an affiliate of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.-based Ram Realty Services, according to a Dec. 30 special warranty deed. Ram Realty acquired the property out of default in 2010 for $400,000.

51. Loeb Pays $450,000 for Newby’s Property -

Memphis-based Loeb Properties paid $450,000 to acquire the Newby’s property on the Highland Strip near the University of Memphis.

Highland University District LLC, an affiliate of Memphis-based Loeb Properties, acquired 535 and 539 S. Highland St. from Paragon Bank, according to a Dec. 29 deed of trust.

The Crosstown development team has secured an $80.5 million loan on the property.

Crosstown Building Owner LLC filed the loan with SunTrust Bank, according to a Dec. 30 deed of trust. McLean Wilson, the Crosstown development team’s co-leader, signed the trust deed.

55. European Job Hunt -

When I visited Dublin, Ireland, in 2013, I was surprised at what I found. It was a European city that in some ways reminded me of home. People were incredibly friendly. The culture was built around music, food and socializing. The city’s core is a similar size to Downtown Memphis, and it’s built around a river.

WASHINGTON (AP) – New federal rules announced Wednesday will require airlines to collect and analyze safety data in an effort to spot troubling trends and help prevent accidents.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the causes of 123 accidents between 2001 and 2010 could have been identified beforehand if airlines had safety management systems in place.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Federal Reserve policymakers who met in December expressed concern about weakness overseas but were upbeat enough about the U.S. economy and impact of lower oil prices to prepare for a likely interest rate hike sometime this year.

A Texas-based real estate investment trust has sold three Memphis properties for $7.2 million.

Cobalt Industrial REIT II, an affiliate of Cobalt Capital Partners, has sold the properties at 4366, 4406 and 4436 Malone Road to Colfin Cobalt I-II Owner LLC, an affiliate of Santa Monica, Calif.-based Colony Financial Inc., according to a Dec. 18 special warranty deed.

69. REIT Buys Distribution Center for $14.5 Million -

A large distribution center in Southeast Memphis has traded hands for $14.5 million, and it’s another out-of-state real estate investment trust doing the buying.

Crown Memphis Associates LLC sold the distribution center at 4836 Hickory Hill Road to SIR Properties Trust, an affiliate of Massachusetts-based Select Income REIT, according to a Dec. 23 warranty deed. Select Income REIT primarily owns properties that are net leased to single tenants. Around 35 percent of SIR’s rents are from land the company owns in Hawaii that is under long term lease to clients with the remaining revenues coming from single-tenant office and industrial properties across the U.S.

It was late September, and local officials were deeply engaged with retail giant Target as the company explored investing in an online fulfillment center in Memphis when the discussions turned toward a familiar subject.

Loeb purchased the long-time home of club and restaurant Newby’s at 535 and 539 Highland St. from Paragon Bank. A purchase price was not disclosed Friday, Jan. 2.

A large distribution center in Southeast Memphis has traded hands for $14.5 million, and it’s another out-of-state real estate investment trust doing the buying.

Crown Memphis Associates LLC sold the distribution center at 4836 Hickory Hill Road to SIR Properties Trust, an affiliate of Massachusetts-based Select Income REIT, according to a Dec. 23 warranty deed. Select Income REIT primarily owns properties that are net leased to single tenants. Around 35 percent of SIR’s rents are from land the company owns in Hawaii that is under long term lease to clients with the remaining revenues coming from single-tenant office and industrial properties across the U.S.

A Texas-based real estate investment trust has sold three Memphis properties for $7.2 million.

Cobalt Industrial REIT II, an affiliate of Cobalt Capital Partners, has sold the properties at 4366, 4406 and 4436 Malone Road to Colfin Cobalt I-II Owner LLC, an affiliate of Santa Monica, Calif.-based Colony Financial Inc., according to a Dec. 18 special warranty deed.

Affiliates of Oaktree Capital Management have acquired two Memphis area mini-storage properties for $4.9 million.

SSSP Kirby Raines LLC, an affiliate of Los Angeles-based Oaktree Capital, acquired the mini-storage property at 6504 E. Raines Road from TSRE III Kirby Raines LLC for $2.5 million, according to a Dec. 2 warranty deed. The 50,910-square-foot storage development was built in 1995, and the Shelby County Assessor of Property’s 2014 appraisal is $1.3 million.

80. Cordova Hotel Sells for $2.5 Million -

A Microtel Inn & Suites in Cordova has sold for $2.5 million.

Shiv Sai Ram LLC purchased the 66-room, three-story hotel at 2423 N. Germantown Parkway from Link-Paras LLC, according to a Dec. 15 warranty deed. The purchase price breaks down to around $37,878 per room.

100. Ikea to Open First Tennessee Store in Memphis -

Swedish furniture retailer Ikea will open its first Tennessee store in Memphis next year, according to several people familiar with the effort and confirmed by Ikea representatives Monday.

The company and Memphis Mayor A C Wharton Jr. will announce the store Tuesday, Dec. 16, according to several sources. A statement to the media Monday night read: "Ikea, the world's leading home furnishings retailer, will announce plans on Tuesday morning for a proposed Memphis store. The proposed Ikea Memphis would be the first Ikea store in either Tennessee, Arkansas or Mississippi and would increase the Swedish retailer's presence in the Southeastern U.S."
